Database Architect Consultant

Job Purpose:

Technical Deployment professional that is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with databases, their implementation and integration into supporting systems and applications

Key Responsibilities:

Be a subject matter expert with the Oracle Database Solution
Provide technical leadership to deliver client facing projects
Deep technical understanding within Oracle 9i and 10g
Architecting storage for OSS and Warehouse applications
Design and Implement Data driven Architected applications/systems
Follow and develop deployment "best practices"

Project Documentation Areas of Focus:

Client Implementation
Integration and interaction with contributing / dependent systems
OSS integration
Help with development, testing, support, and documentation
Deliver "best practices" for repeatability

Required Skills:

Able to communicate effectively to clients and team members
Individual must understand client business requirements and map product offerings and experience managing large installations of 1 Terabyte or more.

Technology Skills

Strong fundamental skills in UNIX and scripting.
Candidate must have a deep technical understanding and experience with databases in general and Oracle software application in particular.
The candidate must also be knowledgeable in the architecture and integration of DB�s with Operations Support Systems in the Fault, Performance, Provisioning, Warehousing and Ticketing categories.
Experience working with the performance application Info Vista is required

MS SQL DBA

Job Description

8 years experience of supporting production databases using Oracle and MS SQL Server.

Working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server database architecture.

Unix shell, Windows Power Shell Programming, SQL programming.

Experience of database system monitoring using GUL tools like Oracle OEM grid control, SQL Server 2008 Management Studio, and using command line executing SQL to query database performance data.

Experience of Oracle database and archive log backup using RMAN,Oracle export/import.

SQL Server database backup, transaction log backup.

Knowledge of supporting high availability database system withOracle RAC, ASM, Standby database, Data Guard, SQL Server Data Mirroring,Log Shipping.

Strong database system trouble shooting skill, good communication skill and teamwork spirit.

Oracle DBA

Responsiblities:

Responsible for maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning.

Database Administrators have a range of skIlls and knowledge of the utilities and production tools used for data storage management to support the project.

Required Skills:

5+ years experience with Oracle database and Oracle Database Administration
5+ years with logical and physical data modeling and design
4+ years experience with data conversion and/or integration
3+ years experience with store procedures, triggers and database packages
3+ years experience with optimization and database tuning
2+ years experience with XML
2+ years experience using data modeling tools (ERwin preferred)
Familiarity & experience with Rational products is a plus

Prefered Skills:

Oracle certification is a plus

Oracle Tech Federal Financials

Required Skills:

Must have experience with Oracle Federal Financials

Must be able to translate the business processes/requirements into technical artifacts.

Must have worked in operations and maintenance role supporting software applications.

Must have expert level knowledge in writing Oracle PL/SQL packages,procedures, triggers, and functions.

Must have strong oral and written communication skills.

Must have strong knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and must have worked on at least one application development lifecycle.

Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Information Management

Prefered Skills:

Familiarity with Data Warehouse concepts including Star Schema and ER Modeling.
Knowledge on ETL tools such as Informatica Power Center 5.x/6.x/7.x, Informatica Repository Manager and Informatica Server Manager.
Knowledge of system analysis and project management is a plus
Knowledge of Data Warehouse methodology a plus
